How does learning Polish for foreigners work?
Learning Polish with me follows these steps:
- Complete the questionnaire, and I will contact you and invite you to a free trial lesson. If you are not a complete beginner, you will also complete a placement test so I can make an initial assessment of your Polish level.
- During the trial lesson, we will discuss your goals and needs. I will show you what lessons with me look like and teach you something from the very beginning. Together we will discuss your learning plan. The trial lesson is also a chance for you to ask questions.
- If you decide to continue learning with me, we will schedule regular lessons and gradually work on all language skills while focusing on communication. Every lesson begins with a review of the previous material, usually in the form of conversation practice.
- I will regularly monitor your progress and provide feedback. Occasionally, we will also dedicate lessons to revision and progress tests.

Polish language levels and estimated learning time
According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), there are six language proficiency levels:
- A1 — Beginner
- A2 — Elementary
- B1 — Intermediate
- B2 — Upper Intermediate
- C1 — Advanced
- C2 — Proficient
My students usually complete A1 and A2 levels in approximately 150 individual online lessons.
Each additional level generally requires around 100 lessons.
Some students need less time, while others need more. For example, speakers of Slavic languages often require about half as many lessons as non-Slavic speakers.
Learning speed depends on many factors, including:
- your natural language-learning abilities;
- the amount of time you spend studying outside lessons;
- your environment and daily exposure to Polish.

I provide individual Polish language courses for foreigners.
The cost of a single 50-minute online lesson is 150 PLN (approximately $40 / €35).
For long-term students or those taking multiple lessons per week, I offer discounts. Details are arranged individually with each student.
I always begin with a free trial lesson (approximately 20 minutes).

How long does the course take?
The course length depends on many factors, including: your goals, the number of lessons per week, your current level, your motivation, the amount of study time outside lessons and your environment and daily exposure to Polish.
How can I assess my Polish level?
You can complete a placement test and then book a free trial lesson (approximately 20 minutes). During the lesson, I will assess your skills and recommend a suitable learning plan.
Can I pause the course?
Yes. You can temporarily pause or discontinue the course while keeping a one-month notice period.
